When I start my laptop dell inspiron 1501 on windows takes very long time to boot may be more than 15 mi?

when I start my laptop on windows xp it takes long time to boot for example when you see that welcome screen it stays on for about at least 15 minutes I tried everything from freeing space to cleaning up and even check for viruses couldn't find anything wrong so please tell me what to do to fix this.

  1. Probably very outdated.

    Your system is probably just lacking memory (RAM).


  2. Try to cleanup your Services and Startup Items.

    Start - Run - enter MSCONFIG in the command box and click OK.

    Check your Services and Startup tabs. Many of the items listed are not necessary.
