Question:

When I switch my Yahoo Music to Rhapsody, will my custom Launchcast station be transferred?

I have a "premium" account on Yahoo Music because of my DSL with AT&T. This is only premium enough to avoid the ads, not enough to actually download music without paying. I do listen a lot to my Launchcast station there though. I have rated zillions of songs to get it to play stuff I like... When I transfer my account to Rhapsody, will all that go away? Does Rhapsody have any radio station feature like that?

  1. It sounds like you are a LAUNCHcast Plus subscriber rather than a Yahoo! Music Unlimited (YMU) or Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go (YMUTG) subscriber. Only YMU and YMUTG subscribers are eligible to transfer their accounts to Rhapsody.

Customers who subscribe to only LAUNCHcast, but not YMU or YMUTG, will be unaffected.

The FAQ that addresses your question reads:

"Does this affect LAUNCHcast at all?

Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscribers who transfer to Rhapsody will have access to Rhapsody's member-only channels. You will no longer have access to LAUNCHcast Plus after you transfer. If you would like to continue to have access to LAUNCHcast Plus, you must sign up for a new subscription here. Even if you do not subscribe to LAUNCHcast Plus, you will still have access to free LAUNCHcast radio and your customized 'My Station'. "
