Question:

When I switch my driver's license address in NJ, do I need to switch my voter's registration too?

I recently switched my NJ driver's license address to a different town in the same county. However, I am fine (and would almost prefer since I'm used to it) with voting at my old location so I don't have to go through the hassle of re-registering and finding the new voting location. Do I have to re-register, or can I leave my voting registration the same and vote in my old location?

  1. When you're going through New Jersey, keep going!

  2. You must register to vote at your new address, because there are issues that only people living in a particular city may vote for. You are not legally allowed to cast a ballot for a city in which you are not a resident.

  3. No, you are required to register and vote in the town of your current residence.
