When I took my thermostat off the wall, my phoneline went dead. ?

Does the thermostat have a mutual link to the phone line?? The thermostat has 4 small lines going to it... any help would be appreciated!

They should not be connected.

They use the same type of wire but this should not be happening as the wiring for your thermostat should go from it directly to the blower/furnace unit. Check to see if you are paying a fee on your phone bill for inside wiring repair. If so, I'd call them to come out and fix the problem.

Put the thermostat back and see if the phone line comes back to life.  

The phone line and thermostat line could be looped around each other under the house or elsewhere.  They are totally separate circuits.  If they were connected, you would have noticed it long before now.
