Everytime I travel a distance of a hour or so, my car overdrive light starts to blink on & off and when I have to stop at a traffic light and pull off again it starts mildly jerking. What could be wrong with it?

  1. SOUNDS LIKE YOU MIGHT HAVE A FORD EXPLORER. IT IS VERY COMMON IN THESE VEHICLES AROUND THE YEAR 2000-2002.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT THE VALVE BODY GASKET IN THE TRANSMISSION HAS BLOWN OUT. IT IS PICKING UP THE TRANSMISSION FLUID BUT AS IT DOES IT IS PUTTING IT RIGHT BACK INTO THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND  NOT OPENING THE VALVES LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. YOU COULD ALSO HAVE A STUCK SHIFT VALVE IN THE TRANSMISSION. BEST TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT. THEY WILL HAVE EVERYTHING TO FIX IT THERE AND IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 3/4 OF A DAY. COST ME ABOUT $600.00. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

  2. Sound like a ford and its trying to tell you there's something wrong with the tranny. Bring it to a tranny shop, hopefully you haven't done to much damage by continuing to drive it this way. It could be a sensor or the whole tranny. Good luck with it.

  3. alot of Ford's do that. I haven't really tried to see what it was but yeaaa..
