I have to purchase a full version by acquiring a serial number via their website and provides me with a link for for that purpose. Unfortunately the link is broken.

Where can I find a link to the section of Adobe's homepage where one can purchase serial numbers?

(If I was provided with one when I purchased the computer, I've since misplaced it.)

  1. It sounds like you are using Adobe Acrobat.  If you only need to view a .pdf file rather than edit a document you could use Adobe Reader 9.0 instead (link below)

This is free, rather than requiring you to purchase a serial for Adobe Acrobat.

Once installed, right-click on the .pdf and select "Open With" then "Choose Program"

A dialogue box will appear, in which you can use the "Browse" option to navigate to Adobe Reader (typically C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Reader 9.0/Reader/AcroRd32.exe)

Don't forget to tick the box on the dialogue window which says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"

Otherwise, this is the only option I know:

  2. you need to go to http://www.adobe.com/ on there you will find the latest versions of their various products, from the description pages you can buy a copy. By default this goes to the US site but if you are elsewhere in the world you can change it to your local site at the top of the page (UK for example and buy in GBP rather than USD)

If you dont use the full version of Acrobat then all you will need is the reader version, this is a free download from the same page listed above.

  3. For reading .pdf files, Foxit Reader is better than Acrobat - Acrobat is overloaded with stuff you'll never use.  Foxit is just a light-weight, fast .pdf reader.  (And it's also free.)
