Question:

When I try to start my bike it makes a winding noise but dont start the engine?now my idle is low?

I did what guardrail said and jump started my 1999 gsxf 600 katana and now it starts up fine every time? and not only that I turned it in the on position and ran it with the choke on and then it died, turn it back on and off, now the idle is low while warm and it cuts off, basicaly I have to hold the throttle at 1,000 rpm to keep the bike running, if I let go the bike cuts out.

  1. If you ran the bike with the choke on for an extended period of time, you may have fouled the spark plugs. Pull the plugs and check for oily residue on them. You can clean them off with a wire brush and some brake cleaner or carb cleaner.

    Reinstall the plugs and you should be good-to-go.


  2. Turn the idle s***w and bring the idle up.
