Question:

When I turn on my computer, I get error that system will not be able to charge battery, and to press any key ?

to continue, Its a dell inspiron 1501 series. Do I need a new battery.when I plug the computer in it still charges the battery but just that error when I start computer. Help

  1. Oh god. Well, that was your first mistake, buying a 1501....lol. That's what I've got, and that's the same problem I had. I hope you're still under warranty of some type. If not, you can still do this, you'll just have to be a little pushier. Anway, call Dell tech support and demand a new adapter. (That's the plugin thingy in the back of your computer that goes into the wall.) Do whatever it takes to get one....because they owe you one. Mine went bad too....well, actually I'll be on my third adapter tomorrow.....


  2. if your battery still works and still has a similar run time as it was when new then you should be fine. There may be many reasons that this is happening this may be the end of the expected life for that battery and Dell figured that it would be dead by now but if it is still working then just keep using it until you no longer can. The second reason is that the system just cant detect that you are either plugged in or that the battery is getting power. Either way as long as the battery still works you shouldn't need to replace it and it just may be system error.
