the water sprays in all different directions!! I saw on a CLR commercial that you can use that to get rid of the lime and calcium buildup off the faucet and I got some CLR and my mom put it in a clean clear bottle... and wrote C.L.R. on it (my mom has OCD with things like that) and so the directions for things like that aren't anywhere that I can find them... Can anyone tell me how to use it to get the lime and calcium buildup off my faucet? Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

  1. At the tip of your faucet where the water comes out there is a thing there that unscrews off called an air raider. If you take it off and trying to keep it the same way tap it upside down to remove any sediment that many be caught in there and let the water go through it in same way to wash out anything left in it. If that doesn't work, take it to Home Depot or your hardware store and get a new one. They might be cheaper than a bottle of C.L.R. Good Luck

  2. Just pour a little CLR into a glass or other small container. Make sure the faucet stays off, and drain the sprayer as much as possible. Just put the sprayer head into the CLR at bedtime, and let it soak overnight. Incidentally, if you don`t have any CLR in the future, clear vinegar works just as good.

P.S. Use it full strength, and put a rubber band around the handle so the sprayer will stay open. Don`t let anyone turn on the faucet, lol.

P.S.S. Sorry. I thought you were talking about your sprayer. The others are right. The aerator just screws off. It prolly has pieces of sediment in it. They are easy to clean. If not, You can buy new aerators at your local hardware pretty cheap. Take your old one with you.

  3. Before going nuts with the CLR, check to make sure the screen in the head of the faucet isn't full of impurities.  Most faucets have a piece on the end that twists off and there is a small metal screen that collects calcium and other impurities in the water to prevent it from going into your glass of water or whatever you need water for.  All you need to do is tap the screen on the side of the sink, seat it back in position in the faucet head, then s***w it back in.  If this doesn't work, then by all means try the CLR as directed by the gentleman above.  Good luck!
