When I upload a cd onto itunes, ?

When I upload some cd's onto i-tunes It takes up tons and tons of memory. Way more then a normal cd should. Approximately 500 mb or so. What causes this, and is there a way to change it?

Okay. this isnt right maybe it is because your music type is wrong.... you should go to prefrences and see what happens check out the settings and see what happens. contact me if you need to

if all else fails, upload the cds to itunes, put them on your ipod, then delete them off your computer.

this wont work, however, if you have your ipod set to automatically sync, instead of manually manage music.
