  1. Lots of solutions...

    However, if I'm uploading to the web, especially for site design etc I'd use photoshop, or photoshop Element's 'save for web' option.

    You can specify size, info density, quality of resolution and format...gif, pnb, jpg or bitmap. It lets you know the changing upload speed for each format and you get a preview to check.

  2. you're probably using a .jpg file

    if you open it in something like Paint and save it as a .bmp file it will be a lot smaller

  3. I had that problem so i went to find where the photo came from and choose a smaller version if that didnt help i choose another photo

  4. you can make it smaller using paint program or you can convert it to bmp using the paint program just file -> save as-> then choose the file type as bmp then save and upload. ;)
