When I use the phone my internet doesn't work, Why is that?

because the use the same  telephone line it would be like talking to someone and trying to call someone else at the same time

Either you have dial up, or you are using an older cordless phone that operates on the same frequency as your wireless router. To fix it you have to buy a new phone which will operate on a different frequency, some phones will even change frequencies so they do not bump off other wireless devices.

If you have DSL, the filters aren't installed properly.  If you are using dialup, the signaling for computers uses the same protocols as the signaling for a voice call, so you can only do one at a time.

If you have dsl make sure you have filters in place on all the phone jacks in the house.
