Well, I was walking home from school and saw an old cottage in the field and suddenly, in the back of my mind, saw the cottage in good condition.

I knew it was in the 18th century or something. There was a woman in her 30's washing clothes in a wooden bucket. She looked tired and was wearing a corset and a 18th century dress.

There were two boys throwing a tattered softball at each other and laughing. They looked like they were having so much fun.

It was somehow scary. I felt as if the woman had lost her husband and was sick and still had to look after her children. I felt her pain. My leg started to throb and I hobbled home. I felt like she was my past life (I believe in that stuff). I got home and stayed in my room and cried for a long time.

At dinner I couldn't remember why I was crying and then this morning I could. I was scared and worried.

What is happening to me?

  1. Nothing is happening to you. Just ignore your illusion.

    Stay calm and still. Meditate.

  2. Softball was invented in 1887 (i.e late in the 19th century), then using a boxing glove as a ball.

No woman washing clothes in the 18th century would do so in a corset.

As for your question: "am I paranormal or something", the answer is "something".  You have an overactive imagination.

  3. I get these flashes too, although I was cr@p at essay writing at school because of a poor imagination!

It is very possible if your mind was receptive to pick up a scene from the past - including those present. It is called a residual haunting.

This is especially true if the event concerned pain, as this leaves a deeper "impression"  Some call it the stonetape theory, but I just know it exists.

It means you are sensitive to these things, and quite a few people are if they just trust their senses.

I stayed at a mansion for a week and saw so much - a lot of which was verified by closer examination, but this place held a lot of memories and at least 2 sentient ghosts as well.

My most recent experience is seeing very bloody surgery from the 1800's done to patients who were awake - all this in a quiet bookshop !

This I did research fully, and found it to be the premeses of Alexander Fowler - surgeon-dentist in 1854. Opiates or alcohol were the only methods, which did nothing to relieve the pain - in fact alcohol caused more bleeding. I believe he sold his mistakes to the local medical college - as they were in high demand.

If you feel strongly about something - then research it.
