When I just turned 17 I got pulled over for driving under the influence. I blew a .07 BAC. I had my license suspended for a year but never had to go to court and was told it was expunged from my record. Now I am almost 21 and about to start a job as an EMT Ambulance Driver. Is this a problem? Did i actually get a DUI? Or did it go down as something else? I had a live scan background check done and no one mentioned anything about it...PLEASE HELP ME!

  1. A DUI is a criminal charge which does not attach to a juvenile, which you were at the time. It will not in fact show up on any criminal background check though the suspension might show up on a motor vehicle report.

  2. Usually your record wont carry over unless it's a felony. DUI is a misdemeanor, which means the cops will be able to see it, but no one else will, and it shouldn't be able to be used against you.

  3. Go down to the police station and ask them to pull your records so you can see if it is there.
