You didn't have a choice of dressings like you do in the states. The dressing was delicious and seemed almost like a creamy itialian, however, I haven't been able to duplicate it. Any ideas? Thank you.

  1. French Salad Dressing also includes the ones using sour cream with mustard seed; if that were the case it could be Vinaigrette à la Moutard à l'ancienne.

  2. I am a former chef from Canada and what we have in North America is not common in Europe anywhere, they are more likely to only have 2 or 3 types and in Paris that type along with an oil and vinegar type or a remoulade type (oil, vinegar, sour pickles, onions capers and fresh herbs) is quite common, and they do not ask whether you want the 5-6 different one in most US and Canadian restaurants as they were not brought up on those kinds or number of choices, in the UK you would have gotten salad cream, a runnier sweeter version of mayo with a mustard flavour.

If your really curious, let me know I can forward you a recipe we made in Lyon.

  3. French dressing?
