  1. YUP, that's "VIT LON", n u can say it the way it spells. It could be the most terrible stuff for someone to look at either to eat but if u ever dare to tryi it, trust me, you wont forget and u wont regret also. IT'S BASICLY THE UNBORN DUCKS. usually, they boil them and then u r supposed to crack the egg and then u put some salt and pepper to eat together. It's really cheap, i think u guys can get 5 of them for a dollar in most of the market in VIETNAM. Come to VIETNAM and try it, it would be a great experience. anyway, if you want to look for it in America, just go to the Asian or Chinese grocery stores. they have them all but im not sure about the price cause i never bought it in america. well, try it and be exposed, have fun !

  2. Get them for free on "Fear Factor" :)

  3. thats probably good oman or luck like when you get two yolks in one egg

  4. It's called a "baloot" (don't know if that's the right spelling ) It's an egg with a unborn chicken inside, said to be buried undergroud and served after fermation, to my understanding. I used to work with some oriental women that ate them.

  5. Vietnamese people call that dish: TRUNG VIT LON( boiled duck egg).First they hatch eggs and then they boil them. It's delicious and very nourishing. Chnese people used that dish as tonic for the sick, such as ginseng of korea. I don't know whether that dish is sold in usa or not. But why don't U go to a vietnamese restaurant and ask for it?

  6. It's called hot bit lon in vietnamese. I like eatting the yellow stuff

  7. They are called "balut" eggs. They are not considered as savory and delicious in the US. So it would be hard to find them, certainly not in the local grocery store. My guess is if you're living in a culturaly diverse city the best place to go would be to the areas where Asian or Indian communities have their own markets and ethnic grocery stores.

  8. It was not chicken egg as you thought. It was duck egg. It tastes good with a shot of liquor. Vietnamese call it :"hot vit lon". It contains lots of protiens and vitamins. You must serve it with a special herb: "rau ra(m)". The combination of this herb, salt and pepper enhances the taste. It also overcomes the egg smell.

You can buy this duck egg at any vietnamese or asian markets. Make sure you boil the eggs long enough before serving. 30' minimum.  And start pump-up.....Good Luck!

  9. I don't understand the question. If you ate the egg, how did you then crack it open to discover the dead chick?

  10. Maybe in an Asian grocery store or butchers?

This is a delicay in The Philippines too

  11. The full name of this stuff called "Trứng vịt lộn".

    - Trứng = Egg.

    - Vịt = Duck.

    - Lộn = Unusual.

  12. I've heard that's a delicacy there-- but I don't know where you could find it.

Maybe check your nearest big city for a Vietnamese grocery and give them a call.

  13. Commercial egg production in this country keeps the hens and roosters apart, hense, no fertilized eggs.

Get yourself some chickens (some hens, and a rooster), and you can raise them yourself.

  14. Yeah, in the philipines it is "Balut". Sometimes it is a duck egg too. I haven't seen them here in the states but possibly in specialty asian store. Maybe the story below will help.

  15. Baluut.  To  buy in the US, try oriental markets and grocery stores.

  16. i think that they are called " vit lom " and you can buy them in some Asian markets in the U.S. there is an Asian market near my house and once in a while my family and i buy them there.sorry if my spelling is incorrect about the " vit lom " or if it's not called that and i was wrong.

  17. ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  18. yeah... absolutely rite. nasty may it look, it does taste very delicious. But u have to watch out for this kinda egg, which is called "balut". cuz in some places, they sell old eggs(I mean egg which is hatched by human several days ago), the baby chicken will grow older, it will look very very  nasty with many hairs on it and taste like nothing on earth.

  19. It is actually a Philippines delicacy called Balut and copied by other asian countries

  20. "vit lon"[ pronounced vit loan] it's a DUCK egg and you may be able to get them in an asian neighborhood or philipino restaurant... they are even more popular with the phillipinos they call them "ba lute"... ive seen them eat it on" fear factor ".. everyone ate 2 and "cleaned their plate"....
