  1. YA is becoming more and more narrow minded as it wants to suck to the pc brigade, the illiterate and the idiots like "Prince".   It will soon be a playground for the pathetic.

  2. You're right, and it's worth fighting back over.  I don't care if it's only points; I argue EVERY violation notice.  I label the message to Customer Care as "Malicious Violation Notice."  But I'm careful to not exceed the questioner's level of offensiveness.  Yesterday is an example--the question preemptively judged answers by suggesting that anyone who didn't agree should get a life.  My answer stated my opposition clearly and logically and suggested the questioner is the one who needs to get a life.  But that wasn't the funny part...

The question dealt with censorship, arguing there should be none at all on the public airwaves, at any time of the day.  my response was that telling parents to stay beside their children at all times a radio or TV is on is unreasonable.  But there was no problem censoring my answer.

Has anyone else noticed this?  The ones who argue against any form of censorship are the first ones to use it themselves.  Then, Y!A makes it damned near impossible to trace back to the original question.  My position has always been that if my answer needed to be taken down, the original question needs to be taken down, too, because they set the standard for the permissible level of offensiveness, not me.

  3. never.  if you bad mouth B Hussein Osama, they will delete it.

  4. Been reported already 2x today.

I deserved one of them the other I have no clue as to why I was reported or why YA even accepted it?  I contested that one.

I get the feeling that the report button is used so often that YA people don't have the time to go through each and every one to figure out whether it violates any guidelines or not.

Thus, we need to police ourselves on this forum better.  And that means acting like adults and having thick enough skin to handle a bit of criticism.

  5. Hey... it's their website, they set down the rules, if you can't abide by them then your freedom of choice kicks in & you can go else where.  That's the democratic way of the USA.

  6. Who cares if you get a violation bc its just points anyway. You can voice your opinion elsewhere though most forums require a little more insight to get a discussion going...This is a site for "sound bites" which can be fun!

I once got a violation for "community standards" on racism when my reply was actually objecting to the racism in the Question! I don't think they really read anything....Who cares though.

  7. This forum attracts a lot of kids who get their kicks out of shock and hateful remarks.  They know very little about politics and keep asking the same baiting questions.  I try to skip these but I think  a lot of people, who are sincerely interested in politics, have gotten tired of it and just quit.  The kids are ruining the category of Politics and Government, which is probably their goal!

  8. Over the last week or so, I have visited several Yahoo forums and the same thing is happening in each forum.  I think there has been a new rule or two put into place.  I also think new monitors are now on each forum and have become overly strick.  I posted several recipes for a young person wanting to learn to cook and it was deleted.  I kid you not.

I guess we all need to go read the rules and regulations again.
