When Manchester hosted the commonwealth games did just English taxes pay for it?

Or did all British countries i.e Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland as well as England taxes help pay for them like the 2012 Olympics?

hopefully it will not be long until we are done with the Union and done with their commonwealth and scots can finally stop subsidising the union and be free

No, GB taxes payed for it. Every country in GB has to help fund the london olympics through their taxes even though really england will be benefiting. It will be a bit unfair if scotland do have to fund it themselves so i hope that ain't true.
