When McCain joked about Janet Reno, what was your impression of his character?

I was not aware of this joke he made:

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?

Because her father is Janet Reno."

I read here (http://www.salon.com/news/1998/06/25newsb.html) that the news media downplayed it, so that might be why it wasn't widely known. Did you know? Is it relevant now?

My impression is that he has a quick wit, and isn't afraid to show it.

Janet Reno was Attorney General when the ATF commited the crimes at Ruby Ridge, Idaho, and at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. Add those episodes to the attempt by the Obama campaign to have Stanley Kurtz arrested for seeking information about Bill Ayers' connection to Obama, and the murders of Vince Foster, Ron Brown and JFK Jr....it paints an ugly picture of the Democratic Machine.

Chelsea Clinton is not ugly.  Chelsea Clinton was going to school

as the daughter of a president and she was expected to be class of the highest standard.  It was not her fault that her father did what he did

and the whole world turned upside down for her. Anyone attempting to defame this innocent girl for what her dad did should evaluate their own ethics and standards. It was was a sick 'joke' no matter who conned it!

Interesting that people find this in poor taste, but, jokes about how old McCain is are not in bad taste.  Interesting reporting.

Even more interesting is that you would choose a single comment to base your decision on who should be President of the United States.

I find that really ignorant.  Probably very common among Democrats, but still very ignorant.
