Did he just pick her because she was a women thats what im thinking so he gets the female vote.

he picked her because Obama pissed lots of people off by not even considering Hillary as a running mate. It was a big blunder for him...and he will pay for it.

McCain chose someone to give him an edge over Obama, especially with the female voters

First, she became a city council member of Wasilla. Then she became a mayor of Wasilla.  At the time, it was struggling with low budget, then she helped it become the best city of Alaska.  Alaskans even voted to make Wasilla the capital of Alaska.  But she didn't want that. Then she was elected to be the Governor.  Alaska was a mess and corrupted. She cleaned up Alaska within two years at her first term as Governor.  Now she's going to clean up the US

Palin has a history of bucking the system, including her party, to clean up corruption and reform government. On that basis alone she would be a very appealing VP pick for McCain. She is also strong on energy and environmental issues which are important in this election, and is pro-life, to the delight of social conservatives.

The Obama campaign dismisses her and ignores her record, proving that the Hillary supporters claims of sexism were justified, and driving more women to McCain-Palin.

McCain must think women are shallow to pull a move like that. Any woman would be stupid JUST to vote for her because she's a woman. Unlike Hillary, Miss Alaska has minimal experience and no substance.
