The largest welfare schemes in the country are for corporations such as Wal Mart, Lockhead etc read "Free Lunch" by David Caye Jonston to educate yourself on real welfare.

I don't need a welfare office, I work for a living, the democrats are the only ones who need welfare as you have just admitted.  Maybe if the democrats didn't spend there welfare money on drugs they would have something to fall back on other than the working mans taxes.

Oh I know, not socializing health care which means our taxes won't be as high as they would be under B Hussein... what's more, we may be able to even drill for our own oil-drilling would in fact lower our costs at the pump because speculation and rumors drive our costs either up or down... furthermore, I have a hunch B Hussein would follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Cahtuh and we would have days when we can and can't purchase gas, would have to wear our sweaters instead of turning on our heat... fun fun. :)

ADD: and hopefully under McCain welfare and other "benefits" will be cut (which would most likely put even more money in mine and yours pockets)... Barack wants to do the very things that will finish off what is left of our once strong, great nation. With McCain we can possibly at the very least retain what we have now, and I PROMISE you honey, it can be MUCH MUCH worse.

I agree that McCain will s***w up the Economy even more. That whole "trickle down" theory that Conservatives like to preach does not work in a Global Economy world. It would have worked 80 years ago when the Wealthy invested their money in US businesses, but nowadays money that goes into the pockets of the wealthy is going to get invested in fast growing markets in Asia and Latin American countries.

Though I am a liberal, I still think Conservatism can work, but I feel that in today's world we need to start with the middle class. I would redistribute the Tax burden to lighten the load on the middle class as much as possible. Then I would create as many incentives as possible to get companies to create as many jobs as possible. I would leave the minimum wage alone for now. If we can create enough jobs and lower the unemployment rate as much as possible, the demand for workers will make it necessary for companies to pay more. When our economy gets to a more healthy state, I would then start to institute regular increases to the minimum wage.
