Michelle and Joe were simply pointing out that if you're a liberal democrat, it don't matter that your grand pappy owned slaves, nor does it matter that your daddy was a member of the KKK.

What Michelle Obama meant was the Biden is not an elitist, that he understands the working and middle class.

Several months ago, Biden told Chris Wallace  of Fox News that he could effectively campaign in SC because he was not the northeastern liberal that Fox News was painting him as, but rather he represented Delaware, a state with a large black population which had been a slave state and a border state prior to the Civil War.
