45 years to the day since Martin Luther Kings "I have a dream" speech led to a monumental upsurge in the fight for equal rights in America.

Now on the doorstep of victory Obama is set to become the first black president of the USA.

If a Black person is now acceptable as a candidate for the presidency does that mean that Martin Luther Kings dream has come true and that African Americans are finally accepted as equals in the US.

If so does this mean the end of the Civil rights and Equal rights groups that have fought so long for equality?

  1. Are you not reading all the post here. There are still lots of people whom are not voting just because hes black. They say things like "he studded" or "it was all a bunch of air" first of all Albert Einstein could not be understood by most people do you think he was stupid? All of these campaign promises are "air" until they get elected.

If you don't want to vote for him because of his policies fine make your argument heard. If we don't stop attacking the person and start talking about issues then it doesn't matter if he gets in or not racism will still be going on strong.

  2. No. The mark or sign that Dr. King's dream has come true will be when we stop having to wonder if his dream has come true. It will be clear. Labels like : first Woman CEO, First Latino-American president, first African American Nominee, First Chinese-American congressman etc. will no longer be a part of the national lexicon. There will be no more "first" because all heritages will have equal footing as stated by the doctrine of our country. This is not an end, only a mil-stone.

  3. Yes, I think so..
