  1. When someone wakes from a coma, I would assume that they would be at an awaken status. I'm not sure if they are actually 'asleep' or their body experiences something different, but I haven't heard of any other shutdown modes that the human body has.

  2. your assuming they wake up...alot of people dont wake up..my uncle for example...but who cares if they are sleepy if they are alive thats all that counts right?

  3. What your saying is kind of mixed up and people may think your a bit rude for asking, as a rule a coma patient could awake at any time but will have many psychological effects after *coming round* that includes lack of appetite drowsiness headaches etc..

So yes they would sleep as it is still normal for a brain to become tired.

A coma is not sleep induced it happens after a trauma to the head or from illness. Its not because someone is tired did you think that was the reason?

  4. More like groggy, foggy and confused than sleepy.  You really don't understand where you are, why you are there and your brain is trying to wrap around what is or has happened to you.  And, if you wake up connected to a bunch of hospital equipment, you are trying to figure out why you are.  Plus, you are trying to go back to the last thing you remember and when that was.  As your brain tries to take it all in, you feel overwhelmed and a little scared, too.  But, I suppose every one is different and may experience it differently...
