  1. The President of the United States is the Commander and Chief and therefore a serviceman salutes him.  The President merely returns the salute.  A US Senator, unless a current Guard or Reserve member, is not in the military chain of command.

  2. I don't know if he knows how to "snap off a salute" he has never had to. He won't have to any way McCain knows how and he will. As commander in chief.

Of course GWB knows how he was in the military even if people here try to deny it.

  3. He doesn't, and doesn't much care for them or the rest of the military. Clinton gutted the military, god forbid them if Obama gets in there!

  4. The President is Commander-in-Chief and as such is the head of ALL the US forces. This other nob SHOULD salute the troop as they are fighting for his country.

It Britain, the Prime Minister does NOT salute the troops as most most of the slimey bast*rds (politicians) have never served in the forces and a salute would be deemed wrong. The only time I know when a PM would have been accepted was during the Falklands War and Mrs.Thatcher. She had more balls than most men. Bush wouldn't have stood a chance with her.

  5. allah, or whoever those muslims think is in charge.

  6. It is customary for the President to return the salute of a service member. I have dealt with a few Senators before, and if they didn't have prior military service, they would just kind of nod or wave after we would render a salute.  Get real Roz, W served, when he felt like it, in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War and never saw a day of active duty.

  7. I don't see how stranding our troops in a never ending war is considering "saluting" them in any way.
