As 'Defender of the Faiths' NOT 'Defender of the Faith'. Is there a conflict here with the UK citizen and upholding Islam?

Will we be allowed to call our teddy bears 'Mohammed' if we want? or will the Defender rule against it??

  1. Of course, Charles wants that. Charles is weird. I fear the day when he will be king. He's going to be a really weird king, if I say so myself.

I can understand where he is coming from though. England is very religiously diverse. Back in the old days there was one main religion and that was Catholicism. Then there was the formation of the Anglican Church. Back then nearly everyone was Anglican with acception to a few Catholics.

Now we have all kinds of religions from Anglicans to Catholics to Atheists and to Muslims.

  2. Why have you turned this question into an attack on Islam?  Are you simply voicing your anti Islamic views for no reason?

  3. Don't bend to others whims.!!!

  4. Now that sounds a bit childish if you don't mind me saying.

  5. he is the Head of the Church of England and should uphold that fact instead of trying to make everyone happy. Shame on him.

  6. I suspect that Prince Charles was trying to be more inclusive to all people, however I doubt that he will be called Defender of the Faiths.

  7. any particular faiths or just the ones that say yes to adultery, divorce and coveting someone else's wife. Head of the church of England, perhaps he should learn the 10 commandments

  8. No, he wants to be known as George VII.

  9. Charles "wants" it, but he won't get to be called that.  There was ALOT of uproar when he said this and the Anglican Church, which his mother heads, will not allow it.  The King or Queen is "the Defender of THE Faith," not faiths.  This was done to "protect" against Catholiscism and has been this way for centuries.

  10. This title defender of the faith is for the leader of the church of England.

Surely he wouldnt want to be called the defender of the faiths as he cannot defend other faiths because he only has one religion.

Also he is hardly the prime example seeing as he committed adultery and was a liar.
