  1. Discounting Olympic results, since we don't know them yet this is how things will pan out:

Federer's current total is: 6605. So we now have to minus 850 points from last year, that he has now lost, and add just 35 (or 75) onto that total and his points will be: 5790

Nadal's current total is 6305. So now we have to subtract 230 points from last year, and then add 225 from this year. So Rafa's total will be 6300

So he will lead Federer by 510 points, so even if Rafa goes out first round at the Olympics and Roger gets the gold medal, he cannot take back his number 1 ranking until the US Open (where Rafa will be #1 Seeded, Woot!!), and even in that situation Federer would have to win the title and Rafa would have to lose before the 4th round for him to get it back.

All these are extremes of course, but generally I would say Roger will not be able to get his ranking back until Madrid really, because there is just too much that he has to do right and so much Rafa has to do wrong for him to get the ranking back at the Open. And I just don't see all those extremes happening.

  2. He will lead FedEx w/ 315 pts.! Vamos RAFA! Hope he wins the US Open!

  3. He'll be leading Federer by a total of 315 points, like the first answerer said. I hope he can win the US Open!!

  4. yeah but did u count in the olympics?

  5. this year also the olimpic games give some points i think 500 for the winner

  6. I asked exactly the same question and im not getting ne consistant answers. I got 535. Sounds like its about 400-550. No more pretty sure. We really have to wait till after Olympics to see how ridiculously hard to is for Rog to come back, but for now we know its more than 400 because it is def beyond Olympics. So yeah, at least 400, 535 sounded right to me.

  7. federer will have 6180 points.

    nadal will have 6495 points.

so nadal will be ahead by 315 points.

if federer gos out in us open this is how many points he'll have

    1st round:5185

    2nd:5215

    3rd:5255

    4th:5330

    qf:5430

    sf:5630

    F:5880

    Winner:6180

    nadals points for us open

    1st:6350

    2nd:6380

    3rd:6420

    4th:6495

    qf:6595

    sf:6795

    f:7045

    Winner:7345

so if federer go's out in the first round and nadal wins then nadla will be 2160 points ahead! although this is unlikely (groans) lol

    Josh you are wrong:

YOU DONT GET POINTS FOR THE OLYMPICS ITS NOT AN ATP TOUR EVENT!
