  1. Go whenever (and where ever) you feel is the right time (and place) for you personally.

It might be easier to make the transition from homeschooling to school. You might not want to wait that long. You might decide to remain a homeschooler for longer then you originally planned.

YOU are the important factor in the equation.

YOU are the one who is going to win or loose in this situation.

In the end school is a place that you learn. So choose the location of that learning where ever it is that you seem to learn the best.

Yes, socialisation is important. But you can join sports groups and art groups and homeschooling groups, heck, you could start up a garage band!  the list goes on and on.

If homeschooling isn't working then go back to public/private/whatever school ASAP.

If it is stick it out. Join clubs and enjoy the ride.

Good luck! Sorry if I came off as harsh at all.

  2. i'd go public for 9th grade cuz you could make more friends at a bigger school an it'll prepare you for high school where theres more kids nd stuff. :)

  3. Highschool is a great experience and you develop a lot of social skills there. So highschool.

  4. Sooner or later, you are going to have to deal with others. There are good people to deal with and bad, so the sooner you are exposed to this the better you will be prepared for life.

  5. We don't know your reasons for homeschooling, so it's hard for us to have an informed opinion on which would be better for you. Go when you have a desire to, when you are ready to, and when your parents agree to it. However, if you plan on going to high school at some point and don't go for 9th (and you're in the US), you'll have to make sure that whatever you do for 9th grade will be accepted for high school.

You don't need high school for social skills: if you are active as a homeschooler, you'll get all the socializing and social skills development you need. There are plenty of socially active homeschoolers who have no desire to go to public high school. Besides, you've already spent k-7 in the school system. If you homeschool with no social interaction at all (which is not recommended), are you really going to destroy any social skills you developed during those years? Think about it.

As for whether to choose a huge public school or the one like homeschooling, this will depend on your personality. A huge public school is too much for some people and they prefer something a little more personal, something where they're not just another face in the sea of people. Others thrive on it. I'd recommend visiting the public school and this other program you're looking at it and really observe, ask all of your questions. Far better to make an informed decision rather than going just with your gut, or the opinions of a bunch of strangers. :)

  6. You should go back to public for highschool. That what I'm doing. I'm in seventh. Thats how you get scholarships and you have big exaims

  7. start the ninth grade at a public school. Trust me, it will have its ups and downs... but it's all part of the experience. I am one of those people who LOVED high school. It's an experience that will prepare you for the college social life.

I'm 20 years old, so I speak from experience. I graduated 3 years ago and I would never take those days back or missing out. =) Good luck and enjoy every moment of it!
