When Sir percy Bates passed away, who inherited his estate?

Sir Percy Bates, the founder of Cunard, passed away without leaving a will. He had no children or spouse but did have a brother who also passed away. Who inherited his estate? Can his descendants now claim their entitlement if it went to the crown?
