I have been reading a lot about this effect and am still confused. In order to activate it you pay half your life points. Then someone would mst or dust tornado it. Would you still lose half of your life points when this happens?

  1. yes you cause to turn it on you must pay half of your lp you don't get your lp back

  2. Of course you would. The thing is, your opponent can only use a Counter Trap on it. No Counter Trap just "destroys", they "negate the activation and destroy". Always remember that there is a difference between destruction and negation. A card can be negated without being destroyed, a card can be destroyed without being negated, and a card can be both negated and destroyed.

  3. They are just destroying the card not negating its effect. Unless they used a card that would negate it. But otherwise you would still lose half of your Life Points by activating.

  4. yes becoz

1st the "half of your life points" is a cost

2nd "cost" is sometimes needed to activate something

3rd if you pay the "cost" there is no turning back except no.4

#4.. if there is a card that negates the cost but still activate that card.... that would be great..

  5. solemn judgement is not a spell card... its a counter trap

    so spell economics doesnt apply

so there is no way to get out of the cost with just solemn judgement and mst

  6. yes because u pay the L>P 1st b4 ur opponent negates it

  7. yes, because it's a cost to activate the effect.

  8. yes. paying half your life points is a cost and the cost to activate any card effect is always paid

and solemn judgment is a counter trap, so only counter traps (spell speed 3 cards) can be chained to it. mst and dust tornado can't be chained to solemn judgment since they have spell speed 2.

  9. yes you do because you pay half your life points to activate  the card and then someone would activate an effect to cancel out the effect
