When Visiting Midtown Manhattan....?

Question

What are some things you might suggest doing or seeing? I have a friend who's going this week for 4 days and he doesn't want to do all the normal touristy things, he'd like to hear from New Yorkers about the good places to go and the best places to eat!! Not expensive just good =o)

During the Weekends, Governors Island which is not known to tourist guidebooks will be best because of new.

Governors Island has wonderful historical landmark and beautiful building, and TRAM TOUR shuttle take you around the island.

There is bike rentals as well.

There are lots of food vendors along the island.

Free ferry leaves from Slip 7 on left side of Marine Air Terminal.

Type "Governors Island" on any search engine.

Another place will be Inwood Hill Park (northwestern edge of Park make you feel like you're in Adironack Mt.) even thought if you're in Manhattan.
