When Yahoo staff delete thoughtful insightful remarks, is it because the staff is under 25, or are they just--

catering to the majority of participants who are in that age group? Trite remarks of no substance contribute nothing, but there is not much reason to delete them, either. It is those who make remarks of substance that get deleted because hostile kids can't stand having anyone say anything that they don't personally agree with.

So wouldn't a separate forum for those over 25 be a place where you could make intelligent comment without getting deleted for it? Enforcement would not be a problem. Most kids would avoid a place that said it was for 25 and over. If a few kids falsify their age, we could live with that. A little hostility would be a lot better than what we have now.

I don't think it's so much the Yahoo! staff as it is the users on this forum who have report-happy mouses.

I've found that the only answers I have get deleted by Yahoo is when I'm debating with women on here.  I've never really thought about it before now.  What does that say?  I find that to be an extremely weird coincidence.

Nice thought, but basically I don't support separatism.  I like the chaotic diversity of YA as it is, in spite of the irritations.... It's a microcosm [albeit distorted] of world society, with people of various ages, genders, agendas, races, cultures and so on.

People as young as 13 on here sometimes make surprisingly wise and intelligent contributions: I certainly wouldn't want to exclude them.

And I agree that it's members themselves who get other members deleted, not under-25 y o YA staff.

[I'm one of those who has been censored. However the offensive items that I report - such as threats of rape or murder, horrible insults, etc, rarely get deleted.]

Criticism: take it of leave it

"thoughtful insightful remarks"....I'm trying to...but TBH I'm having a hard time thinking of "thoughtful insightful remarks" from you.

Now perhaps...I have just missed them.

From what I've seen of you post you talk about two topics...religion which you have every right to question...but questioning never goes over well with religious folks they tend to be a little protective of there beliefs.  And Smoking...where you basically attack smoker...which doesn't tend to go over well they ten to be a little protective of there addictions.  

So two touchy topics...that you attack aggressively or bluntly and often very rudely.  And are missing these "thoughtful insightful remarks"...you claim to be having/ giving to the YA crowd.

YA does have an issue with it's reporting system, many people have been burned including myself...but perhaps if you provided more true "thoughtful insightful remarks" you wouldn't be burned as often.
