  1. A fever can be dangerous to everyone if it is high.  Yes,  fever for too long can contribute to brain damage.  Even an adult with a temp of 103 for a few weeks can cause some brain problems.  A baby should not be allowed to have a temp over 101.  High fevers in anyone can result in seizures.  I have a friend that lost her 3 year old because of a fever of 102 for 2 days.  He had seizures and died.  Give the baby childrens tylenol or childrens motrin. A cool wash cloth in the arm pits can help to reduce the fever also.  If the fever lasts for more than  a day, a doctor should be seen....

  2. No Fever will not cause brain damage. If ur baby has a rectal temp of 100.4 or higher call the doc.

If your child who is 3 or older and running 104, call if your child is very lathargic.
