  1. Increasing.

    If you mean a mercury barometer, the air presses down more heavily on the mercury in the bottom, forcing the column to rise.


  2. Increasing. Getting more dense. This means good weather is on the way.

  3. Air pressure is increasing, that also means that the sky is getting clearer.

  4. Technically a barometer is just an instrument. You can make a barometer "rise" by picking it up off the table. If you carry a barometer up a hill the instrument will "rise" but the indicated air pressure will be lower than at the bottom of the hill.

    Sorry if all this is obvious, but I wasn't sure if this was a trick question.
