  1. I was present when a cat gave birth once and I think it wasnt long at all. Like maybe a minute or two.

  2. it is different for every cat.

  3. sometimes an hour and sometimes 20-30 minutes

  4. Well, here it is,:

The gestation period for cats is approximately 63–65 days. The size of a litter averages three to five kittens, with the first litter usually smaller than subsequent litters. Kittens are weaned at between six and seven weeks, and cats normally reach sexual maturity at 4–10 months (females) and to 5–7 months (males).

*****Gestation means period before it can give birth again!*****

  5. My cat had kittens almost 3 weeks ago and she had her first one at 12:10 a.m the next one at 2:27 am 3:38 and the last one was at 7:05 am so in my book it did not go all that fast last year she had kitties too and it was a drawn out thing but this time it took a little longer... good luck with yer cat and the babies.

  6. The kittens are usually born very fast. Literally one right after the other, however if there is a medical problem it could take much longer or even a vet to help her expel a dead kitten.
