  1. the genetic material remains the same..

    i think the chromosome number is the same since in S phase,the DNA undergo replication..the DNA material will become doubled..so during metaphase,when the centromere divide,the doubled chromosome will be separated and so become single again..so back to the normal number of chromosomes..


  2. It isnt stays the same. Meiosis it changes sell become hapliod meaning it is halved.

  3. If you mean normal mitosis, it will remain the same. In mitosis, during prophase, the chromosomes get doubled (the genetic material gets doubled) and the chromosomes are called sister chromatids which finally separate during anaphase and the cells separate during telophase. So you have 1/2 of 2x where x is the chromosome number so you get back the same number.

    If you mean chromosomal non disjunction, there can be thousands of possibilities. Read up Mosaicaism under Down syndrome, that's and example of non disjunction during meiosis in mother and mitosis in the child.

  4. both daughter cells will have the exact same number of chromosomes as the parent cell.
