  1. Well, I'm in high school and the only thing I use pens for is dissertations and correcting my work. Every thing else in in PENCIL.

  2. well 5-9 should not, but 10-and up should

  3. probably in the 5th or 6th grade. That's when I started using pens, but it's always good to keep a pencil in your bookbag never know when you're gonna make a mistake.

  4. 7th 2 8th grade but most kids want 2 start at fith

  5. I don't know; it would have benefited me to use a pen at a young age since for me, it's very difficult to write with a pencil. With math, I rarely made errors so it didn't make a difference, but the teachers thought I was a know-it-all. It was definitely more comfortable to use the pen. I think it matters on how mature the kid is, why he uses the pen, and does it matter. If the kid writes slowly, I would say that first grade is the time they should start using the pen (maybe Kindergarten). I wouldn't suggest it though in preschool because the kid is still probably going to write on the wall.

  6. not in preschool, I do know that much - we use thick three sided pencils and regular sized crayons.

  7. Usually when they get to high school, except for math, always use a pencil for math. They could start earlier if they are confident in their penmanship, but usually the teacher will decide.

  8. A pencil is always a necessary tool for math, so don't use a pen"in place" of a pencil, use it as well as a pencil. Start using one in fifth grade for tests and stuff, then use it for everything except math in sixth up. Pencils are also great for taking notes, so always keep one at hand. :)

  9. year 5/6 so age 9 10 11,is at our school anyway!

  10. There will still be the need for a pencil for tests, but usually by  the 6th grade they start using a pen for homework-etc. Pencil is just easier because it allows to erase mistakes.

  11. when the child can fully control his/her hand muscle movement.

have you noticed that ball point pens are really "sliippery"? personally, i think it's harder to control my handwriting in ball point. pencil is "slower" and "steadier" and easier to control.

so once the kid has developed his/her own handwriting, you can introduce him/her to pens.

  12. Not in preschool. Most of them can't even write.

  13. wel it depends if you know how to write without mistakes

  14. At least when I started using a pen, they were on the supply list and we were told to bring them.

  15. uh i dont think there is a right age...it all depends on the childs preferences. me, i still use pencils for EVERYTHING! and im a sophomore in high school, i use pens for like math when i need to color coat something, like graphing parabolas and stuff.

    just depends on the kid

  16. I would say once the need to use a pen arrises you should get one, but the pencil will never be replaced.

I'm in college and I have both at hand.... pencil for notes, pen in case I need to sign something. I still use the pencil more, though.

  17. The Teacher Should Decide As Depending On how Well The Child Writes With A Pencil Should the Teacher Try a Child With An Ink Pen.

  18. If memory serves I was 7 when we were given a pen which you dipped in the inkwell to write. At 54 I went to language school in Pattaya, Thailand and was ordered, by my teacher, to write in pencil again. Easier to rub out and correct.

  19. Whenever you feel like letting him use it. I let my preschool class use pens along with markers, crayons, and pencils. They love it!

  20. 3rd grade- pen for second half of the year

    4th grade- PENZZ forever more!!!!

I'm in 8th grade, and this is when I was allowed to switch from pencil to pen.
