  1. Unless they were involved in an illegal activity. AN injured officer will receive  full pay  till he returns to duty unless the injury is caused by his negligence.

  2. ya

  3. normally yes

  4. Depends on the injury and circumstances.  In the line of duty it's likely full pay with all medical covered.

  5. i would think they would get workers comp, or medical unemployment leave til they are better for getting hurt on the job. but i dont really know. i would think they would get some money no matter where it comes from.

  6. yes, and it does not have to be a gunshot.

  7. Full pay

  8. Yes full pay for the duration of the injury

  9. yep! A friend from HS became a cop and he was injured in the line of duty. the doctors said he was unfit to return to the active force so now he is 31 years old and basically retired! Lucky b*****d!

  10. It's like any on the job injury; they get workers compensation. It differs from state to state but usually provides a percentage of full pay and medical benefits.

Now the cops also have a union contract which undoubtedly provides a supplement to the workers comp that brings them up to full pay and benefits when injured on the job.
