When a friend of mine was in Israel he told me about an animal...?

that he had seen there and been shown by the guide...it was some kind of huge spider, with legs that spanned bigger than a big dinner plate, and was a very fast runner. He said the animal was called something like "acraboose" or maybe "aquaboose" ,this I guess to be a name for it in the locals language (no idea how to spell it as this is a story from many years ago). Any ideas about what this animal could be? I have tried searching , with no luck.

  1. try camel spider they are dangerous when they bite you they have this stuff that acts like a   numer so you dont feel it and they actually eat  on  you alive seriously


  2. Most likely, that would be what is commonly called "camel spider".

    If you google it, you will find some pictures. The animal is not dangerous, but coming across one could be scary, those things are huge.

  4. Pronounced "Akraboot" in Hebrew. It's a kind of camel spider, but a different variation specific to the mid-east, I think. We were warned about them on our tour.
