  1. there's multiple ways of fitting a club.  The standard deal for us "weekend hackers" is length, lie angle and shaft flex within a certain set that you're looking to buy.  Not many bells and whistles, but enough to get us by.

there are way more extensive fitting procedures, as well.  There's some places, like Hot Sticks Golf, that can fit you for shaft frequency, swingweight, grip size/type.  They can tweak the loft of certain clubs to give you optimal distance gaps in the set.  Heck, lots of times, those places may have you end up in Nike Woods, Ping long irons, Callaway short irons and Titleist wedges!  That's an obvious example, but it's very possible.

You've heard of the phrase "leave no stone unturned?"  That's those types of places, right down to fitting you with a putter and ball!

It gets expensive, that's why mostly Tour Pros and rich low-handicappers get into it.  Just to let you know, that's not a hard and fast rule... regardless of your ability, if that's what your into, by all means do it.

  2. its fitted to your body size and strength

  3. it means it's customized to your height, swing speed, etc =] made just for you!
