Overall, the man should pay if it is a regular date. If there are circumstances that are other than him just asking a woman out, then details should be considered.

If you are involved for awhile, and you want to treat;  go ahead.

Are you both grown professionals that have decided to meet or has he asked you on a date?  So many questions.

The general rule is to insist twice to pay. If the other party insists on paying -  let them. It is never polite to insult.

Whoever wants to.  I love taking my boyfriends out.  They sometimes get bent out of shape, but I insist.  After a while it becomes a fun game, as you try to keep up with each other.
