When a jellyfish is removed from its salwater environment and put into fresh water it swells and bursts?

why?? hint: think about how plant cells and animal cells react when placed in a solution

  1. The jellyfish cells have a higher salt concentration than freshwater, so water will diffuse into the the cells, eventually bursting them.

    That's the same reason your hands get wrinkly when you take a long bath....
