When a job says $30,000-40,000?

a year, approximately how much an HOUR is that job paying? I know it depends on how much they're paying but how much approximately? thanks

30,000 is approximately 15 dollars an hour, if you work a 40 hour work week. The best rule of thumb is to divide the salary by 2, but only for full time.

Since there are 52 weeks a year then take $30,000/52 or $40,000/52 to get your weekly pay which would be $576.92 per week for $30,000 a year or $769.23 a week for $40,000 a year.  Then if you assume a 40 hour work week then it would be between $14.42/hour and $19.23/hour.

You take the yearly salary dived it by 52 weeks then divide that by 40 hours a week..and thats your approximate hourly rate

SO..

35000 / 52 = 673.08

673.08 / 40 = 16.83

$16.83 an hour
