Our group is for work purposes and one staff member left before assigning another moderator. Now we need to do so.

  1. only an owner can assign a new moderator- yahoo will not. sorry, there's not much you can do about this.

  2. The old moderator can still access the yahoo group by going to the Yahoo website and entering their Yahoo ID & password.

Yahoo doesn't care what email address one is coming from it only looks to see if the Yahoo ID and password are correct..

If the group only had the one owner/moderator then that person is the only one who can promote another member to moderator status.

I hope you can contact the owner/moderator who left and get them to go in and promote another member to owner.

If you can't  -- then you might as well just create a new Group.
