Question:

When a older wedding ring becomes lost, what is the "right" way to replace it?

After a decade of marriage, my wedding ring became lost. The ring was not a "classical" piece and would be very hard (and expensive) to replace with a duplicate. My husband and I are considering getting a set of plain gold rings but without any wedding ceremony or fanfare, we worry that they will seem meaningless. I am sure we are not the first couple to have a spouse lose a wedding ring. I don't want to walk around without a wedding ring any longer, it has been 2 months and we are sure it is gone. What are some ideas on fixing this situation?

  1. I would consider it an opportunity to seriously upgrade,to show how much the last ten years has meant to me,and to renew vows in a simple, private ceremony...

  2. I would go with the plain gold rings. You wouldn't have to have a ceremony, but in the Episcopal Church there is a 'blessing' that the priest could do, then you could do the old 'With this ring I do thee wed' part.

I'm happy to read about a marriage that has lasted.  Thank you. b

  3. cubic zirconium ?

  4. I lost my ring and my wife and I went out and bought another one that was better for me to wear. The first one had ridges and would scratch me on occasions. hated that and I had that ring for nearly twenty years.

We bought the ring and then went to the church dipped it in holy water and prayed together at church. Short and sweet but it made us feel alright about replacing it. Do what you feel would be good for you guys. Nothing has to be dramatic unless  you decide to do that.

  5. That's sad perhaps you could renew your marriage vows and have a small celebration or just have a celebration of some sort.

  6. have your husband buy you another one and propose to you on your anniversay day and go on a honey moon thing.
