When a person die and you cant afford a coffin or the body to getting creamated? what happens?

do they keep em in the morgue for a long time or do they just bury them without a funeral?

  1. They still get you the coffin or cremate you, they just charge it to your account and let you pay it later. I've never heard of anyone refusing to do something like that. . .


  2. There are usually funds set up in cities and towns to take care of people who can't afford burial.  If you really need to know this, contact your local department of social services.

  3. You will just have to make payments or sometimes people donate caskets and maybe you can get lucky with that. Good luck though.

  4. Generally they are kept at the county morgue for 72 hours.  If no one claims you within that 72 hours, you are cremated or your body can be donated to science, basically whatever the state feels fit to do with the remains.  Usually cremation occurs and then they are placed in a common grave.
