I sit here convincing myself that he is missing me and the only reason he isn't in contact is because I was snarky over an email

He doesn't care - I can't convince myself of that and yet it is glaringly obvious.

Part of me thinks we will touch base again and be friends and my rational side is saying "you have GOT to be kidding"

when a realtionship is one sided it is not worth having. He has obviously moved on for what ever reason. Unfortunately, these days people take relationships so lightly and casually and do a lot of destruction to others.

You have got to face reality and know it is not something you did, this is his stuff and he has to deal with it.. it has nothing to do with you... Quit making excuses for him, he is rummaging through life trying to find himself, you were one of the stops on his travel.... let it go and get on with your life... These type of people are so not worth wasting your emotions on.....

I think you need to face facts. He has not been in touch so far & it doesn't seem likely that he will now. Accept the fact that it is over & done with. Move on. There is something or someone better just around the corner for you.

You're struggling between denial and reality.  Apparently this break-up came as a real shock to you.  Denial isn't insanity, its a means by which we protect ourselves against the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune be it the death of a spouse, partner, or friend.  And break-ups can be so akin to death.  Be a little gentler on yourself.
