And the responsiable partys Ins comp. pays the medical bills is that money then paid back to them out of the settlement? say you settle for 25,000.00 and had 16,000.00 in bills dose that mean you only end up with 9,000.00? is there any one out there that has had a settlement that can give me the straight up on this?

  1. Yes.  The medical bills are included in the settlement. That means they have to be paid from the settlement proceeds.

    So, if the adjuster calls you and offers 25,000 to settle - that includes the money for the medical bills.
