When a pet is microchipped do you have to pay a yearly fee to keep it in the database?

No. It's a one time fee.

It may depend on the brand, but Avid, who my dogs are chipped with, has a one-time fee.  If you move, you pay to change the information, but other than that, there are no charges after the initial registration.

No. They put your info on a chip and put it "IN" the dogs neck or ear.  Only pay the fee 1 time.
