I just ordered from Pizza Hut and there is something like a $1.50 delivery fee. We are discussing what that money is used from. I hope towards gas for the driver. Anyone know?

  1. It depends on the restaurant. The Pizza Hut near me gives 85 cents to the driver for gas and they keep the rest.

  2. I think it goes to the driver. If not maybe some kind of tip jar that gets disbursed to the differnent drivers.

  3. yeah it goes to the driver

  4. I used to deliver pizza and the restaurant (not a chain) charged a $1 fee.  I received this in my paycheck.  I also used my own car and paid for my own gas.  The $1 was to help offset my expenses.  Please don't penalize your delivery guy/gal by deducting the fee in the tip.  They work hard to get your pizza to you hot and fresh.  I believe it is rare for a restaurant to provide a car.  Restaurants do provide the advertising sign for delivery persons to place on their own car.  So, if you see the sign on the car, remember it was all that was provided by the restaurant.

  5. I'm sure it goes to the restaurant.  I usually take it out of the tip.  Think of me what you will.

  6. It goes to the restaurant not the driver the driver only gets to keep the tips.  The restaurant keeps that money for the insurance they carry on their drivers and just cause they can  charge it.

  7. It goes to the driver but sometimers people dont know that they is a dilivery charge so some get lots more then they should

  8. it depends on whether or not the driver gets tips from customers

  9. If they supply the car the fee goes to them, and they pay the driver a percentage , the tips that customers give the driver/delivery person are kept by the driver/delivery person.

  10. Goes to the owner. Driver deserves a full tip

  11. My mom has worked at a lot of pizza places and delis and when they charged a delivery fee she didn't see any of it. The best way to find out is to just ask the driver.

  12. I wouldn't be surprised if part of it went to vehicle upkeep and gas as well as the driver.

  13. delivery man...for gas money that the company provides...so i guess both
